I am growing as a person. I feel like I have stable footing and even though I am still wrestling with the world I can comfortably say I am moving forward and finding out more about myself. I am interested to see the adventures I find myself in this year and although that might not be as strange as ones of my past, I believe the other end will be new untraveled territory.
We seem to spend a lot of time telling kids what job they need to think about at 14/15. This is crazy talk. I didn’t discover my vocation until my mid twenties, nearly 10 years after working.
What we should be saying to kids is be excellent at the subjects you love and try hard at the ones that you struggle with as performing well opens the door to choice. Whether that’s further education, or discovering your path through trial and error, it’s important to follow passions.
This world needs to wake up to impassionating it’s young people because when 40 comes around they won’t be then dreading that birthday but look to celebrate their life so far, and what’s to come."
